The model, who is also the reigning Miss Copperbelt University and Miss Heritage Copperbelt 2017, takes over the crown from Natasha Joan Mapulanga.

Faith beat a dozen other contestants drawn from across the country to win the crown which will enable her to represent the country at the Miss Heritage World. She did more than enough to impress the five-member panel of judges who included leading actress Zodwa Khumalo.

Shakaina Chomba, representing Central Province, was the First Runner-Up while Selia Jere of the Eastern Province was chosen as the Second Runner-Up. Selia also won the Best Cuisine category.

Copperbelt Province did well again with Jacinta Chanda winning the talent category thanks to her acting skills while Beauty Shamanga of Lusaka was crowned Miss Personality. It is the closest Lusaka Province went to getting anything out of the pageant that was organised by Naomi Eneless Banda’s Unathi Events.

The First Princess also won the Best Visit to the heritage site, which involved the burial site for the national football team that crashed off the coast of Gabon in 1993 while Mudenda Siabeenzu got the honour for her presentation of the Victoria Falls as a world heritage site.

Faith, who was tearful as she accepted the crown from Natasha, walked away with a number of prizes that included a K5,000 cheque from the National Heritage Conservation Commission (NHCC). The First and Second Runner-Ups got K2,000 and K1,500 respectively.

The pageant, which was also attended by the Miss Tourism 2016 Luwi Kawanda and NHCC executive director Collins Chipote, was supported by Best Western Plus Lusaka Grand Hotel, Tag Media, ProLyfe Graphix , Machi Media, California Beverages, Beautiful Me, TopStar, Big Moze, former Lusaka mayor Daniel Chisenga and Dams Group of Companies
